This Mother’s Day, Blackstone is celebrating moms, stepmoms, and mother figures everywhere for the memories they’ve created through their love, support, and home-cooked meals.

We’re proud to spotlight an extraordinary mother whose journey reflects the strength, resilience, and compassion of motherhood—Kaleigh Glass, nominated by her own mother, Yvonne Wood.

Five years ago, Kaleigh and her husband faced the loss of their first daughter, Emerson. That heartache propelled Kaleigh to make a difference for other mothers who had experienced the devastating loss of a child.

In honor of her daughter and to provide hope for other families, Kaleigh founded her own nonprofit organization: Emerson’s Rae of Light Foundation.

The foundation shared its mission in a Facebook post:

“Our mission is to bring comfort, hope, and support to families navigating the profound journey of grief and loss. Inspired by the memory of our beloved daughter, we are dedicated to providing compassionate bereavement services to families and hospitals, offering guidance and resources to help heal hearts and honor loved ones. Through empathy and care, we strive to be a beacon of light in the darkest moments, ensuring that no family faces this journey alone.”

And Kaleigh’s impact doesn’t stop at home or with her foundation. As a schoolteacher, she pours her heart into nurturing the lives of the children in her classroom.

Now a mother of two daughters, Kaleigh embodies “strength, resilience, and compassion in everything she does,” said her mother, Yvonne. “Her love, dedication, and the light she brings to others is truly inspiring.”

Kaleigh’s story reminds us that motherhood comes in many forms. So, to Kaleigh, and to all the moms out there—thank you and Happy Mother’s Day.
