
Amish Onion Patties
Serves 4 Time: 20 minutes Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons cornmeal
- 2 ½ cups yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup whole milk
- 10-15 dashes hot sauce
Directions
- Heat Blackstone griddle to medium-low heat.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, diced onions, and corn meal in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until completely incorporated.
- Mix in milk and hot sauce. Stir for 2 minutes until a thick batter is created.
- Drizzle oil onto the griddle. Drop ¼ cup spoonful's of the batter directly onto the griddle.
- Cook until both sides are golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.
Serve with ketchup, spicy ketchup, buttermilk ranch or your favorite dipping sauce.
