Ingredients
- 8 apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar, divided
- 4 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
- 1 stick unsalted butter, cut into 8 pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream
Directions
Preheat the Leggero Pizza Oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit with a cast iron skillet inside.
On the griddle over medium heat, cook the sliced apples for 5 to 10 minutes until they start to soften.
Once the apples begin to soften, add 3 tablespoons of butter, ½ cup of brown sugar, and 3 teaspoons of cinnamon to the apples on the griddle. Mix thoroughly and cook for another 5 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining butter, brown sugar, salt, flour, and oats. Mix until the butter is distributed evenly.
Remove the skillet from the Leggero oven and transfer the cooked apples from the griddle into it.
Spread the oat topping evenly over the apples in the skillet. Sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon.
Place the skillet back into the Leggero oven and cook for 8-12 minutes, or until the topping is crispy and golden brown.
Serve the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
