Ingredients
- 2 heads of broccoli, cut into florets
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 5-6 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon shao xing cooking wine
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1/2 tablespoon chicken bouillon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder
- Water, as needed for steaming
- Cooking oil, as needed
Directions
Wash and rinse the broccoli well. Break it down into bite-sized florets. Set aside.
In a bowl, marinate the thinly sliced flank steak with minced garlic, oyster sauce, water, dark soy sauce, soy sauce, shao xing cooking wine, cornstarch, cooking oil, chicken bouillon, baking soda, and white pepper. Marinate for 20 minutes.
On a hot and oiled Blackstone Griddle, cook the marinated beef until it is 90% cooked through. Set it aside.
On the other side of the griddle, add the broccoli and cover it with a basting cover for 1 minute. Carefully uncover and squeeze out any excess water from the broccoli. Cover it again to steam the broccoli for 2-3 minutes. Adjust the cooking time based on your desired level of tenderness.
Uncover the broccoli and combine it with the cooked beef.
Serve the Better than Takeout Beef and Broccoli while it's hot. Enjoy it on its own or with rice.
