Betty's Blackened Ahi Tuna
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb ahi tuna, sushi grade tuna
- 2 tbsp ponzu sauce
- Blackstone Blackstened Steak Seasoning
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Seaweed Salad (optional)
- toasted sesame seeds
- green onions, sliced thin, for garnish
- 1 tbsp Kewpie Mayo
- 1 tbsp Sriracha Sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce, low sodium
- 2 tbsp Ponzu Sauce
- 1 tsp Rice Wine Vinegar
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp green onion, sliced
Directions:
- Marinate ahi tuna in 2 tbsp Ponzu Sauce in refrigerator for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make dipping sauces by combining Spicy Mayo ingredients and setting aside and Soy Saice ingredients and setting aside.
- Remove tuna from refrigerator and ponzu sauce and pay dry with paper towels. Coat all sides in enough Blackstone Blackened Steak Seasoning to coat all sides.
- On a medium high preheated Blackstone drizzle sesame oil and add tuna to cook on one side 45 seconds. Flip to cook the opposite side adding more oil as needed another 45 seconds for rare. Cook longer or to personal liking.
- Using tongs sear the sides for 15-20 seconds for rare.
- Remove tuna and slice for serving. Hey plate over a bed of seaweed salad.
- Garnish with spicy Mayo, toasted sesame seeds, green onions and serve alongside soy dipping sauce. Enjoy!
Notes: check your seafood department for seaweed salad. Substitute with rice or cucumber salad. Can be served tacos or over rice. sushi grade tuna can be cooked from rare to well done depending on your liking.
