Directions
Begin by preheating your Blackstone griddle to high heat.
While the griddle is heating up, thinly slice one large red onion (using a mandoline if available), one red chile (or jalapeño), and chop about 1/3 cup of fresh Italian parsley.
Place a frying pan or saucepan on your griddle top, add a bit of olive oil, and start cooking down the red onions and red chiles. Allow them to soften for about 4-5 minutes. Then, add a splash of white wine, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, juice from half a lemon, a pinch of salt and pepper, and the chopped Italian parsley. Stir and let it reduce for 5 minutes before removing from heat.
Now, prepare your steak. Opt for a thick-cut ribeye for a perfect sear without overcooking. Pat the steak dry, lightly coat all sides with olive oil, and season generously with Blackstone Steak House seasoning. On the same griddle, add a little olive oil and cook the steak to your preferred temperature. Flip occasionally and allow it to rest when done.
Create a delicious sauce by mixing 3-4 tablespoons of Duke's mayo, juice from half a lemon, and around 2 tablespoons of Blackstone Steak House seasoning in a bowl. Stir well, adjusting the consistency with extra lemon juice to your liking.
After letting the steak rest for 5 minutes, thinly slice it and prepare to assemble your sandwich. Cut the French loaf to your desired length, and on the bottom part of the bun, spread some of your lemon mayo sauce.
Now, assemble your sandwich by layering the sliced steak, the sautéed onion and chile mixture, and a handful of spring mix greens on top of the mayo-covered bun. Finish with the top part of the bun.
Serve your Fit for a King Steak Sandwich and enjoy!
