Griddled Grapefruit Shandy



  • 2 Grapefruits, Cut in Half
  • 4 Oz. of Simple Syrup
  • 4 Oz. of Grapefruit-flavored Vodka
  • Corona Beer


  1. Set griddle to high heat. Slice both grapefruits in half and dry off with a paper towel. Using a paper towel, spread a very thin layer of vegetable oil on the griddle top to assist with the caramelization. Place grapefruit halves on griddle top and cook until caramelized.

  2. For our Simple syrup add equal parts sugar and water to a plastic container with a lid and shake for about 20-30 seconds or until you see the sugar has completely dissolved.

  3. On a plate add 1 TBSP of sugar, 1 Tsp of salt and a dash of cayenne pepper. Coat the glass rim with grapefruit juice and season the glass rim.

  4. In your glass strain and squeeze one half of the grapefruit 1 ounce of simple syrup, 1 ounce of grapefruit flavored vodka, give that a stir and pour in your ice cold Corona, and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
