  • One 5-6 Oz. of Ahi Tuna Steak, sushi grade
  • 3 Tablespoons of Ponzu Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup of Toasted Sesame Seeds (or enough to coat filet completely)
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons of Sesame Oil

Steps

  1. Marinate ahi tuna in ponzu sauce for 30 minutes in refrigerator, turning fish over every 5 minutes.

  2. Preheat Blackstone to High Heat.

  3. Fill a small dish with sesame seeds and coat the tuna steak on all sides with sesame seeds.

  4. Add 1 tbsp sesame oil to preheated griddle and quickly place tuna in the oil to sear 1-1.5 minutes, depending, for rare.

  5. Add 1 tbsp sesame oil to griddle, flipping tuna into oil and sear 1-1.5 minutes.

  6. Using tongs, sear edges for 20-30 seconds all around the steak in remaining 1/2 tbsp sesame oil.

  7. Remove tuna and place on the Blackstone cutting board and slice into thin strips.
