Steak Frites 2-Ways

Recipe by Nathan Lippy

Ingredients:

  • 4 NY Strip steaks
  • 1 bag frozen French fries
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil

Chimi-Style Sauce:

  • 1 bunch flat leaf parsley
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • The juice of 2 limes
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Mustard Cream Sauce:

  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • A few sprigs fresh thyme
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat the griddle to medium high heat.
  2. Pre-heat the Air Fryer to medium-high heat then add the frozen fries and cook for 7-10 minutes.
  3. Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides. Add a drizzle of olive oil to the griddle and sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Using a sauté pan on the griddle top, add a drizzle of olive oil, shallots, garlic, and fresh thyme. Cook for 2-3 minutes stirring often. Add the mustard, capers, and cream with a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir to evenly combine.
  5. In a mixing bowl, add all of the “Chimi-Style” ingredients and mix to evenly combine.
  6. Once the steaks are cooked to the desired doneness, add some of the fries to your serving plate and then add the steak over the top. Garnish with one or both sauces and serve hot.
  7. Enjoy!
