A fun twist on a fairground favorite, these apple fries are lightly caramelized, coated in buttery cinnamon sugar, and served with warm salted caramel for dipping. Crispy on the outside, tender in the center, and perfect for sharing.
Preheat the Blackstone Air Fryer to 400°F (200°C) and preheat the griddle to medium heat.
Place the apple wedges in a bowl of cold water with the lemon juice while you prepare the remaining apples. Drain well and pat completely dry with paper towels.
Melt a small portion of the butter on the griddle. Add the apples and toss until lightly coated, then sprinkle with a light dusting of cinnamon.
Arrange the apple wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them so they cook evenly.
Air fry for 5 minutes, shake the basket, then cook for another 4–5 minutes, or until the apples are tender with lightly browned edges.
While the apples cook, combine the granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a shallow bowl to make the cinnamon sugar coating.
Melt the remaining butter on the griddle. Transfer the cooked apple fries back onto the griddle and toss in the butter for 1–2 minutes until every piece is evenly coated.
If desired, warm the caramel drizzle sauce in a griddle-safe saucepan until smooth and pour into a small serving dish.
Immediately toss the buttered apple fries in the cinnamon sugar until evenly coated.
Serve warm with the caramel drizzle for dipping and finish with a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt, if desired.
