  • 10 Bratwursts
  • 2 Bottles of Beer (any Lager or Ale will work)
  • 2 Large Onions
  • 2 Green Peppers
  • 2 Red Peppers
  • 1 Stick of Butter
  • 10 Bratwurst Buns
  • Stone Ground Mustard (or Spicy Brown)
  • Kosher Salt
  • Fresh Ground Black
  • 1 Teaspoon of Garlic powder


  1. Preheat your griddle to medium-high heat.

  2. Place a tin tray or a 9x13” cake pan on the griddle top (make sure it is does not have a non-stick coating on it).

  3. Pour the beer into the tray and add Kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to the beer.

  4. Slice the onions and peppers and add them to the beer as well.

  5. Bring braising liquid to a low simmer for about 5 minutes.

  6. Add all the bratwurst to the braising liquid and simmer for about 5 minutes, turning them once.

  7. Move the bratwurst to the griddle top and cook until each side is golden brown. Move the onions and peppers to the griddle at the same time as the bratwurst and cook them until they start to brown as well.

  8. Serve the bratwurst on a toasted bratwurst bun topped with the onion and peppers and stone ground mustard.
