Recipe by Todd Toven
Serves 4
Time: 30 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
- 16 oz. sauerkraut, drained
- 1/2 can Samuel Adams Octoberfest or comparable beer
- 1 1/4 pounds of ground beef, rolled into 8 (2 1/2-ounce) balls
- 2 tablespoons honey mustard dressing or yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
- OR instead of honey mustard and apple cider vinegar, Fat Boy Natural BBQ Apple Cider Honey Mustard is great for this recipe! (Can purchase on Amazon)
- 4 pretzel sandwich buns
- Mayonnaise, to serve
- Extra virgin olive oil, for the griddle
- 8 slices of Muenster or Swiss cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- Turn Blackstone griddle to high heat. Place Dutch oven or skillet on griddle top or side burner.
- Add sauerkraut and beer to the skillet, stirring while it heats. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Drizzle olive oil onto the griddle top. Place ground beef balls on griddle. Smash each into a patty using parchment paper and Blackstone's Burger Press.
- Season patties with salt and pepper, to taste. Add cheese to each patty. The burger patties will cook quickly, so keep an eye on them.
- Mix honey mustard dressing with apple cider vinegar, set aside.
- Spread mayo on inside surfaces of buns. Toast buns on griddle top, mayo sides down. Remove when browned as desired.
- Put the burgers together! Remove buns, add the mustard and apple cider vinegar sauce on each bun, two patties with cheese, sauerkraut (drained) and then top bun.
- Enjoy!
