Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna
Recipe by Blackstone Griddle Girl
Ingredients:
- Sushi grade Ahi Tuna
- Sesame Seeds
- Sesame Oil
Tuna Marinade:
- ¼ cup Soy Sauce
- 2 tbs Rice Vinegar
- 1 tbsp minced Garlic
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- 2 tbsp Green Onion
- Juice from 1 Lime
Dipping sauce:
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp minced Garlic
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp Green Onions
Cucumber/Carrot Slaw:
- Spiralize 2 Carrots and 1 Cucumber
- 1 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
- ¼ cup Orange Juice
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
Directions:
- Mix all the ingredients together for the marinade. Place tuna steaks into the marinade, cover, and put in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Spiralize cucumbers and carrots and pour dressing over it. Put into the refrigerator for an hour.
- Mix all the dipping sauce ingredients together and set aside.
- Heat griddle to high heat. Let get very hot and drizzle some sesame oil.
- Pour ½ cup sesame seeds onto a plate. Dip ahi tuna onto the seeds coating it evenly.
- Place on a scalding hot griddle and cook each side for 4 minutes.
- Remove from the griddle and slice thinly.
- Put slaw onto a serving plate, top with seared tuna, and add dipping sauce to the side.
