Where Did The Blackstone Pizza Oven Go?

With its proprietary two-stone technology, the first Blackstone Pizza Oven was introduced in 2015. The oven utilized a motorized rotating pizza stone on the bottom and a fixed stone on top which helped evenly cook the pizza from every side. The two stones increased efficiency allowing the pizza to be cooked to perfection in less than 5 minutes. And don’t let the name fool you, this versatile oven could be used to bake fish, bread, roast vegetables, and anything else you can imagine. The possibilities were endless!

Why was the Blackstone Pizza Oven put on hold?

While the pizza oven was a very popular product at the time, griddles were even more so. With limited manufacturing capacity and internal resources, we had to make a choice on which product to focus on for the long term.

The griddle was extremely popular (and still is, especially on TikTok) so the decision was made to focus heavily on innovating and upgrading the Blackstone griddle. There are now over 30 different types of Blackstone griddles on the market making it easy to find the perfect griddle for your needs.

Are there any plans for a new pizza oven?

Yes, on Thursday, April 28, 2022, we released the first wave of a new pizza oven product at Walmart! This pizza oven conversion kit transforms almost any 22” Blackstone griddle into a pizza oven! There were a limited number of units available and they sold out fast. We are busy making more to bring them back in stock soon.

Yes, but what about a new standalone pizza oven?

Due to popular demand for a dedicated Blackstone Pizza Oven, our Blackstone engineers have been working tirelessly for the last 3 years to update, innovate and fine-tune the legacy pizza oven. On June 2, 2022 during an investor meeting in New York, a video was released teasing the new and improved Blackstone Pizza Oven! The design features the same patented two-stone technology with an updated design language making it more durable and efficient.  

Is there a release date for the new Blackstone Pizza Oven?

We know you are excited! It has been almost 10 years since the original oven was released. We are rigorously testing this new oven to ensure we can deliver the highest quality product possible. Unfortunately, with interruptions to the global supply chain, we do not have a specific release date for the new pizza oven yet.
